The Promontory Ranch Club

A speculative design for my client, who was interested in investing and developing other lots in the same gated community as their own property. This residence was desired to be contemporary but incorporating a bit more of the mountain vernacular aesthetic found desirable in the region.
The design employed locally quarried buff colored sandstone masonry, weathering cor-ten steel roofing and siding (a rusty brick red color material favored by the Design Review Committee), and copper-clad windows and doors. This was a 7,500 sqft. design (livable area), on a slight down-sloping lot with spectacular broad views of the distant mountain range.
